Below is a list of companies which provide seed funding or capitals for african tech entrepreneurs :

  1. Chembe Venture : Sean Murphy’s company is located in Ireland, and provides $10 000 to $25 000 in seed funding for mobile projects in africa.
  2. VC4Africa : is Africa’s largest venture capital community, investors and entrepreneurs, dedicated to building business on the continent.
  3.  Limbe Ventures : This Cameroonian company is a unique community / collaboration space in Cameroon for startups, freelancers, designers, entrepreneurs (esp. internet entrepreneurs) and independent thinkers.
  4. Crowdfunding : Located in South Africa, crowdfunding aims to make 1000 people get together and invest R1,000+ each by pooling the money into the crowdfunding
  5. Proparco : it is the Investment and Promotions company for Economic Cooperation. Created in 1977, PROPARCO is a Development Financial Institution partly held by Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and private shareholders from the North and South. PROPARCO’s mission is to be a catalyst for private investment in developing countries which targets growth, sustainable development and reaching the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
  6. sFund : The sFund is a new $250 million Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers initiative to invest in entrepreneurs inventing social applications and services. Strategic partners in the sFund include Amazon.com, Facebook, and Zynga — the leading companies defining today’s social and online environment; as well as entertainment and media leaders Comcast and Liberty Media and Allen & Company LLC. The sFund will provide financing, counsel, and relationship capital for a new generation of entrepreneurs to deliver on the promise of the social web.
